WMS 2023 Fall Athletics Update

Hello Windham Middle School Families,

If your child plans on trying out for a sport at the middle school in the fall, there are a few things to make sure you have in order before school starts. Please see below for a list of items to consider and complete, if not done so already. We are excited for the upcoming fall season and we hope you are too!

**Important**

If you have not already signed up for Parent Square and your child is going to be participating in a sport, please make sure you sign up (preferably the app for your phone) and enable notifications. This is the main mode of communication throughout the season, relaying things like time changes and cancellations.

A link to the WMS website where these forms can be found is at the bottom. They are also attached to this message. It is highly recommended that you print these out and have them ready for the first day of school. The first tryouts for soccer (boys and girls) will be Tuesday, September 5th (more details to come). You must have all paperwork completed by this date.

  • We have three teams in the fall; a boys soccer team, a girls soccer team, and a cross-country team which is co-ed  (boys and girls may both join).

  • Tryouts will be held for the soccer teams.

  • All students who would like to join cross-country are welcome to join.

  • In order to participate, students must bring in the following items by the first day of tryouts

    • An updated physical exam from your child's Dr., indicating an exam has been done within the past 12 months. (If your child's physical exam expires during the season, he or she will not be allowed to participate until it is updated).

    • Athletic Permission Form/Emergency Contact Form

    • Sports Participation Health Record

  • All three forms must be turned into Mr. Fromme in the gym before the first day of tryouts.
